Akugbe (pronounced: Ah-Koog-Bay) means UNITY. The unity of akugbe emphasizes the beauty of community and harmony and the positive spirit of collectivism and mutual support.

Our group discussions will consist of a variety of topics because our lives include more than our caregiver journey.
Our discussions will cover topics of civic engagement (voting, policies that affect our communities, how to get involved, etc.), mental health (reducing stress and increasing self-care, etc.), physical health (cooking classes, sharing recipes, etc.), and topics related to our caregiving journeys (sharing advice, resources, your heart, etc.)
We're going to share our wins and frustrations, laugh, cry and maybe scream, LOL. We're going to listen respectfully, give grace, share resources and stories and hold one another accountable when needed, but most of all we are going to show each other love and grow our community.

Our Cupcakes and Conversation Groups focus on civic actions that promote mental wellness. By engaging the community, we aim to foster a supportive environment where individuals can share their experiences and find solace in collective discussions.

Our Drinks and Discussion Groups will focus on caregivers' day-to-day concerns. We provide a welcoming space for caregivers to express their thoughts and connect with others facing similar challenges.

Our Create and Sips Groups get individuals moving and participating in a new craft or activity. This interactive experience allows participants to meet new people while engaging in creative projects.
